Tradional cabinetry styling with some lovely modern touches.
We were tasked to completely re-design this dated kitchen – originally not quite wide enough for a centre island so as part of a vast extension and complete renovation the room was widened to allow the main sink run to be pushed back allowing for adequate space for a large island focal point, in this lovely new open plan family kitchen/dining/lounge.
We managed to blend various different zones within 3 main areas in this space –
- A very well equiped cooking area featuring Miele ovens, surrounded by tall larder storage and tall crockery storage either side, with the addition of an in-formal drinks area with integrated wine cooler and glazed display cabinet.
- Large central island with Bora vented induction hob (ducting routed out through the floor) and healthy food preparation area.
- Sink run, surrounded by double Miele dishwashers, Fisher & Paykel Fridge Freezer with further tall larder storage, and mix of further storage base and wall cabinets – moving into a dedicated breakfast pantry cupboard, any coffee lover would be envious of.
We made the most of the height and actually introduced 2 different heights of cabinetry – keeping the oven run with a minimal shadow gap above the decorative cornice, then stepping the cabinetry higher in the lovely new vaulted ceiling extension area.
